Blogmas Day 7 (Can I write about Christmas for the whole of December, how am I finding Blogmas)

I decided to do Blogmas to push myself. When I’m super busy I find it really hard to Blog, I like to write something every day but sometimes it’s just not possible. I thought by doing Blogmas it’s going to force me to make that little bit of time for myself to write. I feel like I’ve promised all of you a post a day until Christmas, and I don’t want to let you all down! I break promises to myself all the time but to other people I work my hardest to keep them. I think this is why I’m staying on track.

I’ve been doing a lot more planning than usual, and spending a lot more time thinking about what to write. On my blog I tend to write whatever I feel like on the day, hence why I cover a million different topics. I wanted to do Blogmas my way, as I do with everything else in my life. I’m not doing any Christmas tags, or using a ‘planned out’ Blogmas posting guiding, not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just none of it is inspiring me at the moment. I’m still writing about what ever I want to. So far I’ve only had one post that wasn’t Christmas related, Which has surprised me to be honest. As I write a lot about my daily life it has been quite Christmassy so far, because most things going on right now are Christmas related. But the big question is…

Can I write about Christmas every day until Christmas?

My answer that would be a big fat no.

Just because I’m doing Blogmas I don’t feel my Blog has to become a shrine to Christmas. I think the worst thing you can do with a Blog (and I know from experience) is to put yourself in a box and only talk about one topic. I’ll get bored, you’ll get bored, and if I’m not enjoying what I’m writing it’ll turn into a chore instead of a pleasure.

So in conclusion, I’m going to carry on doing what I’m doing and I hope you enjoy my usual random selection of posts.

How are you finding Blogmas? Are you enjoying posting every day and what are your posts about? Comment below!!

  1. There is no way I could manage to talk about Christmas for 24 days straight. Like today we had serious meetings with the school. Was barely managable to then blog about what I cooked today let alone fine something Christmas related. I started Blogmas to try and get into the swing of blogging reguarly so it’s going fine so far, I hope ;o)

  2. I’m enjoying posting about my tea Advent Calendar every day. It’s tough sometime though, because I’ve been busy with work. I’m hoping I can keep it up every day and not have to double post any.

    • That’s exactly what I’m doing 😃😃 this is my second time round on the blogging train and I’ve stayed 100% true to what I want to write about. I’m LOVING it!! If I read one more ‘my favourite Christmas songs’ post I think I’ll vomit 😂😂 I know from experience I’ll be bored out of my brain writing about one topic lol xxx

  3. This is my first year doing Blogmas and it’s a bit overwhelming. I just decided to turn it into fun posts about Christmas and include some posts on gifting and crafting which are posts I’d probably write anyway, only now I attach the Blogmas tag to ’em. It’s not possible for me to sit and write a post every day. I have all of my Favorite Christmas Songs posts already written and scheduled to post each night. I have done the same with a few Blogmas posts. I write a few in advance on my slow times at work. The ability to schedule posts is a godsend. I don’t think you have to do a Blogmas post daily to take part. I think this is why many don’t participate. They think you have to do each day rather than representing Blogmas as you choose. You do you, and I look forward to ALL of your posts! 🙂 ❤

  4. Probably writing all about Christmas would bore everyone at the end however Christmas/Winter time could be related and gives us so many more ideas to write about. 😀

  5. I unfortunately too have been bitten by the Scrooge bug most of my life, but this year I’m trying to find the simple pleasures in Christmas to restore the meaning of the holiday. Signing up to WordPress yesterday and creating my first couple of blogs, I looked to find something that sparked my interest, and happened to run across your blog. I definitely enjoyed it and agree, a few days here and there are plenty to spread the Christmas cheer. Like you, I tend to write what I feel, covering a multitude of subjects. Either way, keep doing what your doing and I’ll keep reading.
