Home sweet home-ready to take on the world!

I am finally home! What’s fabulous week, I feel like I’m ready to take on another year of chaos. I’m calm and relaxed, I have so much to do today but for the first time in months I feel I can handle it. I’m not about to explode and my heart is my palpitating out of my chest. I’m taking it in my stride. I’m so relieved I’ve calmed down I thought I was going to have a heart attack before we left. I felt like I was drowning and I really couldn’t see myself feeling any better, I can’t put into words how happy I am that I feel back to normal. I’m always crazy busy but I just wasn’t coping. I’m rammed with work this week but I’m only seeing the positives of it, instead of the negatives.

Before going on holiday I try and get the house tidy so it’s nice to walk into when we’re back. Up until this year I failed miserably and walking into our home was always very disappointing! This year, while we were away I couldn’t remember what state the house was in. I wasn’t looking forward to the first impression home. But was pleasantly surprised I had done far more than I remembered!!

Today has been filled with food shopping and unpacking. There’s still more to do but I decided to have a quick coffee break. Our neighbors are away on holiday so I was looking forward to half hour peace and quiet in the garden. Sadly it seems the whole set of TOWIE has invaded their garden, the music is booming and they’re all shouting at each other over it. Guessing they’re meant to be ‘house sitting’ but it looks like a party to me!!! Hoping they all bugger off before the kids bedtimes or it’s going to be a nightmare getting them to sleep. Already I miss the quiet of where we stayed on holiday!!!

Quite a boring post there but it’s what I felt like writing today, how’s your day going? I would love to hear in the comments below!

  1. Welcome home!!!
Next year, before you leave, set up a maid service (and a trusted friend to let them in and lock up, if you aren’t comfortable with strangers loose in your home… OR pay a trusted friend who wants/needs the extra cash) to come in and clean the house while you are on vacation. It’s not much of an extra expense when added to the cost of the holiday, and the joy and peace of vacation can be extended and even increased by the feelings of luxury that comes with such a small thing. (A one time ‘surface clean’ shouldn’t be exorbitant, and the emotional value could be priceless…) AND … YOU DESERVE TO FEEL PAMPERED once in a while!

  2. Welcome home! It’s Monday, so it’s back to the office for me. I had a good weekend – My in-laws came to visit from Friday night through Saturday afternoon, and my husband and I spent most of yesterday doing things around the house. We finally hung pictures for the first time since buying our house a year ago! Better late than never. Working the normal eight hours today, then off to Norfolk for my monthly PEO chapter meeting.

  3. Welcome home… hope the noisy bar-stewards next door can it before bedtime. Luckily I don’t have kids here all the time, or my neighbours would be dead by now and I’d have no regrets. 😉 I find making a lot of noise in the bedroom (especially when I’m alone) has the desired effect when my neighbours annoy me. 😀 They still won’t make eye contact with me… and we’ve been here 5 years. xx

  4. I do the same thing, prepare my house (cleaning and organizing) before I leave for a big trip. I cherish my time away from my home but always miss it after awhile. Home for my sanctuary amidst the chaotic rhythm of the world.
